As a mama of four, I had been using an unmentioned well known brand for my kids and when I got the chance to try this, I was skeptical. This surpasses the quality of the other one and let me break down why. It's Canadian made and instead of the other brands carrier oil of flax, it's slightly thicker as it uses Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil as its carrier oil which makes it easier to dispense where you want to. This helps your drop stay put instead of the mad dash to try to catch it into your infants mouth and you can administer it easier and more accurately this way. It does have a slight taste due to that reason, but very slight. My kids tried it and also liked it, I was able to easily dispense a drop on each of their hands to try, it also took less time than the competitor for the drop to dispense. It also uses vitamin E as it's preservative (tocopherols). The expiry date is over a year and a half away which is more than enough time to use it's 60 drops.

This iron supplement was easy to take and easy on my digestive system. I found the best way to take it was to mix it with at least 8 ounces of water, a cap full of lemon juice and a teaspoon of sugar (or honey). When mixed with just water, or taken straight, the metallic taste was a little unpleasant. I really can't taste the iron at all when I basically make it into lemonade. There was a bit of time when I was experiencing some digestive upset so I stopped taking this for two days. I can confirm by trial and error that it was NOT this supplement that bothered my stomach but rather a totally separate FODMAP issue. I do have super low ferritin after donating blood twice this year so this was very much needed. I have a stronger iron supplement in pill for so I am currently alternating between the two. This one is more reasonably priced so the value is there for the price for me.
